Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how QuoteMarket Media Group LLC (“we”, “us”), which operates Insurance Quote Market, collects, uses and shares information when you use this website. By using the site you agree to this policy. The first sections are our notice at collection: what we collect, why, and who we share it with.
Information we collect
- Information you give us when you request quotes: your name, email, phone number, address, date of birth, gender, marital status, credit rating (as you describe it), and details about your vehicles, drivers, driving history, home, pets, current insurance and the coverage you want.
- Information collected automatically: your IP address and the approximate location it indicates (city or state, not your precise location), browser and device type, the pages you visit, how long you spend on the site, and the advertisement or link that brought you here (for example campaign codes and ad click identifiers).
- Session recording on our quote form: we use services such as Jornaya and ActiveProspect TrustedForm that record your session on the quote form, including the pages you view, your clicks, your keystrokes, your mouse or pointer movements, the disclosures you were shown and your consent, to document that consent and for quality control and fraud prevention. Recording starts when the quote form opens, and it is separate from the cookie banner: your cookie choice doesn’t turn it on or off. What you type in the form’s fields is masked: the recording keeps only a scrambled code of it, not the text itself, and when we show your contact details back to you, they are masked the same way. The answers you choose, the rest of the page’s text (including the address suggestions shown while you type your street address) and the consent wording are recorded as they appear.
- Answers saved on your device: after you request quotes, your answers (including your contact details and date of birth) are saved in your browser’s local storage on that device for 30 days, so the form can fill them in if you come back. They are not stored in a cookie and are not sent to us or anyone else until you submit the form again.
- Coverage calculator: our car insurance coverage calculator works entirely in your browser. The state and amounts you enter (such as your savings, car value and loan balance) are not sent to us, our partners or our analytics and advertising tools, and we don’t save them in cookies or your browser’s storage. Using the calculator doesn’t request quotes or share your information with anyone. As on any page, the information collected automatically (described above) still applies, for example that you visited the page. If you then request quotes, only the answers you give in the quote form are collected, as this policy describes.
In the categories California law uses, that is: identifiers; customer records (name, address, phone); characteristics of protected classifications (age, gender, marital status); commercial information (your insurance history and the coverage you want); internet or other electronic network activity; approximate geolocation; and inferences drawn from these. We don’t collect sensitive personal information as California law defines it, such as Social Security or driver’s license numbers or your precise location.
Where it comes from
From you, when you use the site and the quote form; automatically from your browser and device; and from service providers that help us run the site (for example consent verification, fraud prevention, and IP-based location lookup).
How we use information
- To match you with insurance companies, agents and other partners who can provide quotes.
- To operate, secure and improve the site, prevent fraud, and measure our advertising.
- To keep records of your consent and comply with the law.
How we share information
When you submit a quote request, we sell or share your information with insurance companies, agents, brokers, comparison services and lead marketplaces in our partner network, who pay us for it and may contact you about insurance by phone, text or email. Partners may share information with their own affiliates and service providers. We also share information with our service providers (hosting, analytics, consent verification), when required by law, and in connection with a sale or merger of our business.
Sponsored offers. After you request quotes, we may show ads from insurance companies, supplied by advertising partners who pay us when you click one. To choose relevant ads we share your ZIP code, state and general answers (for example the type of insurance, whether you’re insured now and your vehicle year), not your name or contact details. When you click an ad, the advertiser and its advertising partner know you came from our site.
Cookies, tracking and our ads
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and advertising tools from the platforms we advertise on (such as Google Ads, and others we may use, like Meta, Microsoft Advertising, TikTok and ChatGPT ads) to measure which ads lead to quote requests. These tools may use cookies, pixels and similar technologies, and the platforms may use what they learn to show you ads elsewhere. When a quote request came from one of their ads, we may tell that platform that a request happened, along with its ad click or browser identifier, your browser type and what the request earned us, but not your answers. In some states, none of these tools load until you accept them in our cookie banner.
Hashed contact details. When you allow it, we also share your email address and phone number with our advertising partners (Meta, Google and Microsoft) in hashed form, to measure how our ads perform. Hashing is one-way encryption: it turns each detail into a code that can’t be turned back into the original, which the platform compares with codes made the same way from its own users’ details. For Meta, we also include your hashed name, ZIP code and state, and your IP address. If you’re in a state where we show our cookie banner, we do this only after you choose Accept, and never if you choose Decline. We never do it if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, or after you turn off ad tracking or opt out on our Do Not Sell or Share page.
- Global Privacy Control: we treat a GPC signal from your browser as a request to opt out of sale and sharing for that browser, and we turn off advertising measurement for it. We don’t respond to other “Do Not Track” signals, because there is no common standard for them. When we detect a GPC signal, the bottom of each page says that your opt-out is honored.
- Cookie choices: visitors in some states see a cookie banner when they arrive. Google Analytics and the advertising tools above stay off unless you choose Accept, and stay off if you choose Decline. We remember your choice in your browser’s local storage (not a cookie), and you can change it with “Cookie choices” at the bottom of any page.
- Turn off ad tracking in this browser on our Do Not Sell or Share page.
- Industry opt-outs for interest-based ads: the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info), the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org), and Google Ad Settings. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser.
Your choices
- Calls and texts: you can withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP to a text, asking the caller to stop, or choosing “Opt out and Do Not Call” on our Do Not Sell or Share page, which also tells the partners we shared your information with. Contact a partner directly to be removed from its own lists.
- Do not sell or share: you can opt out of future sales or sharing of your information on our Do Not Sell or Share page.
- Saved answers: choose “Don’t remember them” after submitting, or “Start a new quote” when the form welcomes you back, to delete them from your device. Clearing your browser’s site data also removes them.
- Access, correction and deletion: you can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, using the request form or by emailing support@insurancequotemarket.com.
State privacy rights
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia and other states with consumer privacy laws may have, depending on their state, the right to know and get a copy of the personal information we hold about them, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale, of sharing for targeted advertising, and of profiling. We won’t discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
- How to ask: use the request form or email support@insurancequotemarket.com. We verify your identity by matching the details you give us to our records before we give out or delete information, and we respond within the time your state requires (45 days in California).
- Authorized agents: someone you authorize may make a request for you by emailing us with your signed permission; we may still ask you to verify your identity.
- Appeals: if we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision or emailing support@insurancequotemarket.com with “Appeal” in the subject. We’ll answer within the time your state requires; if you’re not satisfied, you can contact your state attorney general.
California residents: in the last 12 months we collected the categories of information listed above for the purposes described, and sold or shared them with the categories of partners described. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and our quote form doesn’t accept anyone under 18.
Security and retention
We protect information with encryption in transit and at rest and with access controls. We keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above and our legal obligations. Records of your consent, and the information needed to show it, are kept for as long as a legal claim about that consent could be brought (generally at least four years).
